Lateral entry vs regular B.Tech: is the degree the same?
Does a lateral-entry B.Tech carry the same value as a regular four-year degree? Short answer: yes.
The degree is identical
You graduate with the same B.Tech / B.E. from the same university. The certificate does not label you a lateral-entry student.
What actually differs
Only the entry point. You join in year two, so you skip first-year subjects your diploma already covered. You'll want to bridge any gaps (some universities offer bridge courses) — but you finish alongside everyone else.
